15- days bicycle tour along the valley of Orkhon River.

A varied bicycle tour with close contact to the natives.

Biking across one of world’s most untouched landscapes is a great adventure. The tour varies, from visits of old Buddhist temples and ancient ruins, ancient Huns Gravesites to the beautiful waterfall of Ulaanzutgalan, and National Parks rich in flora and fauna, such as the Khustai Nuruu national park where the rare Przewalski horses can be seen. The trip will continue through the tough terrains of the desert and one will also have the chance to experience the unique nomadic life along the ride.

• Day 1: Flight
  Departure from Berlin/Tegel to Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan
• Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
  Arrival at Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan Airport and transfer to the yurt (Ger) camp, after a basic course you can relax and take a shower. In the afternoon we visit the Gandan monastery and Choijin Lma Temple Museum. Dinner and first overnight in the camp.
• Day 3: National Park "Khustain Nuruu"
  In the morning we ride together to the National Park "Khustain Nuruu", where a successful rehabilitation program for Przewalski-Horses is realized. These horses are a kind of ancestor of our present horses. Overnight you stay in a Ger built from Nomads for tourists.
• Day 4: National Park "Khustain Nuruu"
  In the morning we bike to a gravesite of Hun period, furthermore we visit a Turkish monument of the 6th -8th century. Towards evening we drive to the standpipe of the wild horses.
• Day 5: Sand dune of Elsen Tasarkhai
  Drive in west direction to the sand dune of Elsen Tasarkhai, where we pitch our tents. In the afternoon we venture a short bicycle tour to KhugnuKhan National Park. Furthermore we view the ruins of an old monastery at the same place.
• Day 6: Temple Schankh
  First bus ride to the temple Schankh of the 17th century, where Zanabazar spent his childhood. He was the first leader of Mongolian Lamaism. Afterward we drive in two stages to the largest and beautiful waterfall Ulaanzutgalan, overnight in tent.
• Day 7: National park Khangai Nuruu
  Continuation of our bike tour to the national park Khangai Nuruu, on the way you see a special kind of stones of Hun period. In the afternoon we arrive at the waterfall and overnight in a "Extra-Ger built from nomads for tourists.
• Day 8: Waterfall of Ulaanzutgalan
  Today we visit a yak breeding family, who gives us an insight into the Mongolian cuisine, the preparation of yak milk and their traditional life. A short hiking-tour and overnight at an "Extra-Ger" after this.
• Day 9: Temple Tuvkhun
  We go by bike to the temple Tuvkhun (World Heritage Site). The temple is located on a 2300m high mountain top with a magnificent panoramic view. Overnight in tent surrounded by the beautiful countryside.
• Day 10: Karakorum
  Continuation of our journey to the historical capital Karkorum of Chinggis-Khan Empire, overnight in camp close to the river Orkhon
• Day 11: Monastery Erdene Zuu
  In the morning we visit the monastery Erdene Zuu (World Heritage Site) and archaeological excavation. In the afternoon we bike in north direction to a memorial of the Turkish empire of the 8th century. Continuing it goes to Ugii Lake, on the way we search a comfortable sleeping berth.
• Day 12: Lake Ugii
  After a short way, we arrive at the lake Ugii. You can discover the area around the lake by yourself. Relaxing and taking a bath are on our daily occurrence.
• Day 13: Towards Ulaanbaatar
  Today we have a breakfast and toward Ulaanbaatar, on the way we visit the monastery ruin complex which belongs to 17th century.
• Day 14: Ulaanbaatar
  Bus to Ulaanbaatar, after arrival you discover the city by yourself such as sightseeing or shopping tours. In the evening farewell dinner with folklore concert.
• Day 15: Departure
  Transfer to airport and departure to Europe
