22 day tour "Meditation at Lake Baikal and Buddhism in Mongolia"

• Day 1: Arrival
  Departure from Europe to Ulan Ude, stopover in Moscow
• Day 2: Ulan Ude
  Arrival in Ulaan-Ude, check in at the hotel, short trip to the monastery complex of Ivolginsk (appr. 30 km), introduction by a monastery member, visit to the Buddhist museum. If possible, we wil also visit the corpse of the world famous Hambo Lama, which has been preserved for over 80 years.
• Day 3: Baikal Lake
  In the morning we visit the Buddhist University, if possible we will participate in a Puja ceremony. In the afternoon trip to Lake Baikal and overnight at the camp.
• Day 4: Ulan Ude
  Our accompanying lama gives a lecture, then we meditate at Lake Baikal. In the evening we return to to Ulan Ude and check in at the hotel.
• Day 5: Ulaanbaatar
  We drive to Mongolia by bus, lunch at the border town Altanbulag, at night arrival in Ulaanbaatar, overnight at a hotel.
• Day 6: Ulaanbaatar
  In the early morning we visit Gandan monastery, taking part in a Puja ceremony, afterwards we meditate together. Sightseeing at Bogd Khan Winter Palace and Chojin Lama Monastery museum, Mongolian folklore and dinner in the capital city at night.
• Day 7: Sainshand
  Free day for shopping and sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar, visit to a Mongolian felt production, our accompanying Lama gives a lecture and afterwards we meditate together. Night train to Sainshand in Gobi desert.
• Day 8: Danzan Ravjaa
  We continue our journey to Sainshand. After the arrival breakfast and visit to the Danzan Ravjaa museum, afterwards bus ride to Danzan Ravjaa's monastery Khamariin Khiid. Overnight at the yurt camp next to the monastery.
• Day 9: Shambhala
  We spend a whole day at the Shabhala Engery Center with meditation and lecture, visit a holy spring and an old meditation cave, overnight at the yurt camp.
• Day 10: Ikh Gazriin Chuluu
  We continue our journey in north-west direction, on the way overnight at camp surrounded by the lump of stones Ikh Gazriin Chuluu.
• Day 11-12: Sangiin Dalai
  Today we drive to Erdene Dalai to see the abandoned monastery Sangiin Dalai (one of the very few monasteries which were not destroyed), overnight at camp.
• Day 13: Ongiin Khiid
  In the morning we continue to the former Buddhist university Ogiin Khiid, in the afternoon we visit the ruins of Ongiin Khiid, afterwards meditation and hiking along the bank of Ongi river, overnight at the yurt camp.
• Day 14: Arvaikheer
  Continuing our journey we drive in north-west direction to the provincial town Arvaikheer, lunch in town and afterwards visit to Gandan Muntsaglan Khiid monastery. Overnight in a hotel.
• Day 15-16: Orkhon waterfall
  Today trip to Orkhon waterfall and overnight at yurt camp, visit to a yak breeding family.
• Day 17: Tuvkhun Khiid
  In the morning we visit the mountain monastery Tuvkhun Khiid (World Heritage site), maybe we will have the opportunity to participate in a Puja ceremony, then we meditate at this radiant place and drive to the hot spring Jaran Rashaan.
• Day 18: Karakorum
  In the morning the tour to Karakorum, the historic capital city of Mongolia gives us the opportunity of visiting the monastery Erdene Zuu (World Heritage Site) and archaeological excavations. Overnight at the camp.
• Day 19: Ögii Nuur
  Trip to the Lake Ögii Nuur, visitation of a Turkish memorial, overnight at the yurt camp.
• Day 20: National Park "Khustai Nuruu"
  In the morning we drive together in east direction to the National Park "Khustai Nuruu", where a successful rehabilitation program for Przewalski-Horses is realized. These horses are a kind of ancestor of our present horses. On the way we have lunch at the ruins of Khar Balgas. Overnight stay in a Ger built by Nomads for tourists.
• Day 21: Return to Ulaanbaatar
  In the afternoon return to Ulaanbaatar, check in the hotel, farewell dinner with meditation and party.
• Day 22: Departure
  In the morning transfer to the airport and departure to Europe.
