History and nature of southern and central Mongolia.

This 18-days tour promises a variety of adventure-packed hiking trips across Mongolia's beautiful landscapes, covering the southern and central part of the country. Given the type of sites, the tour can be divided into Spiritual and Natural.

• Day 1: Departure
  Flight from Berlin/Tegel to Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan Airport
• Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
  Arrival at Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan Airport and transfer to your ger camp situated 5km south of Ulaanbaatar, city tour, including Gandan Monastery and Choijin Lama Temple Museum. Dinner and first overnight in Mongolian Ger at the Camp.
• Day 3: Mountain Baga Gazriin Chuluu
  In the morning we start our drive to south, stop at sacred Mother Rock of Eej Khad and spend a night at the foot of the mountain Baga Gazriin Chuluu, interesting rock formation in the middle of Gobi desert. In evening we walk into mountains and overnight in the tent.
• Day 4: Sum Huh Burd
  Hike to the ruins of a temple in a small ravine and continue our drive to Sum Huh Burd, where we will see ruins of temple built in the 10th Century. The lake is an oasis for water birds.
• Day 5: Ongi monastery ruins
  Today we drive to Ongi River with monastery ruins. In the evening we take a walk to the monastery, which was completely destroyed by the communist purges of the 1930s. Overnight at the camp.
• Day 6: "Flaming cliffs" of Bayanzag
  A morning drive brings us to Bayanzag, a world famous dinosaur remains site, in the afternoon hiking to the flaming cliffs. Overnight in Ger by saxaul bush forests.
• Day 7: Yoliin Am (Vulture Valley)
  Drive to the canyon of Yoliin Am (Vulture Valley) with ice even in summer, hiking in the National Park "Three Beauties of Gobi", visit of the Gobi-Museum
• Day 8: Sand dunes of Khongor Els
  Travel by car through the beautiful Gobi desert capes to the less vegetation sand dunes of Khongor Els. Overnight under canvas near the "singing" dunes.
• Day 9: Pass Namiin Davaa
  Hiking along the dunes, drive north to the pass Namiin Davaa over Altai mountain range. Overnight in the tent in wild landscape under starlights
• Day 10: To the north
  Continuation of our trip direction north, on the way overnight in the tent.
• Day 11: Provincial town Arvaikheer
  Today we arrive at the capital of province Uvurkhangai Arvaikheer, lunch at café and after visiting bazaar and local market drive to camping.
• Day 12: Lakes Naiman Nuur
  Drive takes us to the beautiful Naiman Nuur (Eight Lakes) high in the Khangai mountain. Dinner and camping by bonfire at the highest situated lake.
• Day 13: Around the astonishing lake
  We explore by foot the landscapes around the astonishing lake, then drive to hot springs of Mogoitiin Am and visit of yak-breeding family.
• Day 14: Waterfall „Ulaanzutgalan"
  Hiking to the sacred rock formation Saran Khad, short drive to the largest waterfall „Ulaanzutgalan". Overnight in Extra-Ger from nomad's purpose-built for tourists.
• Day 15: Temple Tuvkhun
  In the morning we drive to the temple Tuvkhun (World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO). Hiking to the top. In the afternoon we continue our drive to Karakorum "ancient and future capital of Mongolians". On the way we spend the night in the tent.
• Day 16: Karakorum
  Karakorum, visit of Erdene Zuu (World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO), magnificent monastery built on ruins of capital of Chinggis Khan. Overnight in Mongolian Ger at the camp on the shores of Orkhon River.
• Day 17: Ulaanbaatar
  Return to Ulaanbaatar and enough time may be used for shopping. In the evening dinner with traditional folklore concert and overnight at the hotel.
• Day 18: Departure
  Transfer to the Airport and departure
