A 22-day adventure journey at Altai range with hiking and riding through the national park Altai Tavan Bogd.

During this tour we fly to province Khovd, hiking through foothills of the mountain Zambagarav Uul, the fourth largest mountain of Mongolia (4.195m) and visit the fresh water lake Tolbo Nuur.

From village Tsengel Soum we start our hiking-riding tour to Altai Tavan Bogd mountain range. We ride along Tsagaan Gol River accompanied by a local guide.

On the way we hike by foot as well as we ride our route (daily 10-15 km). We will visit local nomadic Kazakh and Tuvans families and experience something about their unique culture and daily activities.

Our next highlight is hiking around mountain lakes Khoton and Khurgan Nuur at an altitude of 2073m with icy, crystal clear fresh water. The landscape around the lakes is picturesque: snow-capped mountains and amazing alpine meadows.

• Day 1: Arrival
  Departure from Berlin/Tegel to Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan
• Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
  In the morning arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to the yurt camp (5 km south of the capital), relaxing and showering, Lunch, drive to Ulaanbaatar: Money exchange, afterward visitation of the National Museum. At 6pm folklore concert and overnight in the yurt.
• Day 3: Flight to Khovd
  Early morning we fly to Khovd, the provincial town of Khovd Aimak. The desert area is interspersed with numerous picturesque lakes and rivers. Transfer to our camp. In the afternoon we discover the area by foot and visit the local natural history museum.
• Day 4-5: Glacier Zambargarav Uul
  Trip to Zambagarav Uul, the fourth largest mountain of Mongolia (4.195m). The mountain is situated along the border between Khovd and Bajan-Ulgij Aimak.
•  Day 6: Fresh-Water Lake Tolbo Nuur
  In the morning trip to the fresh-water lake Tolbo Nuur. Walking tour to a monument, this was built in honour of a Mongolian national hero.
• Day 7: Provincial town Ulgii
  In the afternoon we arrive in Ölgiii, provincial town of Bayan-Ölgiii Aimak. Moreover we visit a mosque and variegated bazaar. Overnight at the camp.
•  Day 8: Tsengel Soum
  Today we drive toward the national park Altai Tavan Bogd and arrive in Tsengel Soum in the afternoon, where we pitch our tents and get to know our horses.
• Day 9-14: Riding at the national park Altai Tavan Bogd
  Today we start the hiking, riding tour to Mongolian Altai range with our horses. We ride along Tsagaan Gol river accompanied by a local guide. On the way we hike by foot as well as we ride our route (daily 10- 15 km). Overnight in tent at Tsagaan Gol River, we achieve our target, the canyon of Shiveet Uul on day 14. Our driver is waiting for us and we say good bye to our guide at this place.
• Day 15-17: Mountain lakes Khoton and Khurgan Nuur
  In the morning we continue the trip in south-west direction to the mountain lakes Khoton and Khurgan Nuur. Finally we arrive at the lakes on day 16 and pitch our tents surrounded by the beautiful landscape. The next day hiking and discovering the area.
• Day 18-19: Provincial town Ulgii
  Return to Ulgii and check in at the yurt camp.
• Day 20: Provincial town Khovd
  Continuation of our journey to Khovd, check in at the camp.
• Day 21: Return Flight to Ulaanbaatar
  Return flight to Ulaanbaatar, where you can discover the city by yourself. In theevening farewell dinner with folklore concert.
