A 15 day adventure journey to Mongol Altai range and central Mongolia in order to immerse yourself in the daily routine and life of nomads.

We travel through the beautiful countryside of the Khangai range, which is also known as Mongolian Alps.

Further HighlightsAt the end of the trip we fly back to Ulaanbaatar on a 3 hour flight, where you can enjoy the bird's eye view of this stunning landscape. Furthermore we have the opportunity to get to know the culture and tradition of the last nomads on the entire world.
  • Day 1: Flight
    Departure from Europe to Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan
  • Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
    Arrival at Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan Airport and transfer to the yurt (Ger) camp, after a basic course you can relax and take a shower. In the afternoon we visit the Gandan monastery and the Tschojdshin-Lamy monastery museum. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
  • Day 3: Karakorum
    Start of our journey heading west via jeep to Karakorum, the historic capital city of Mongolia, visit to the temple complex Erdene Zuu (World Heritage Site), overnight at the yurt camp close to Orkhon river, folklore show at night
  • Day 4: Spring Tsenkher
    Continuation to the hot spring Tsenkher, walk or horse riding through the valley of the Mongol Altai range, in the evening taking a bath in the springs
  • Day 5: Tsetserleg
    Trip to provincial town Tsetserleg (flower garden). We are going to attend the traditional Mongolian Naadam festival, later sightseeing of the fascinating temple museum Zaya Pandita and continuation to the stone shipping Taikhar Chuluu close to the river Tamir, overnight at the yurt camp.
  • Day 6: Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur
    Continue towards Lake Terkhin Tsagaan Nuur, white lake, visitation of volcanic crater Khorgo, overnight in the camp.
  • Day 7: Salt Lake Telmen
    Further west is a camp close to the salt lake Telmen. Dinner and campfire.
  • Day 8: Bayan Nuur
    Lake in the middle of sand dunes. Altan Els is the northern most sand dune chain of Mongolia. Overnight in tent.
  • Day 9: Uvs Nuur and Ulaangom
    Visit of the largest salt lake of Mongolia, the Uvs Nuur (World Heritage Site). Overnight in hotel at Ulaangom.
  • Day 10: Provincial town Ölgii
    Altai range and western provincial town Ölgii. which is the homeland for different minorities such as Kazakhs and Tuvans. Overnight in tent.
  • Day 11: Tsengel Mountains
    Drive into western direction and perambulate the loveliest landscapes of the Altai range. Overnight in tent with the Kazakh and visit of an eagle hunter family.
  • Day 12: Provincial town Ölgii
    Return to Ölgii and overnight in the yurt camp.
  • Day 13: Provincial town Khovd
    Today drive to the beautiful lake Tolbo and a further provincial town, called Khovd. Overnight in yurt camp.
  • Day 14: Ulaanbaatar
    Excursion to a provincial museum.
    Departure to Ulaanbaatar, 3 hour flight, transfer to the hotel. Farewell dinner with folklore.
  • Day 15: Departure
    In the Morning transfer to airport and departure homewards
