A 15-day educational journey to the Nomads, Mongols of the steppe, in order to discover the original religion of human being with their aid.
Mongolia is one of the last countries, where shamans are respected and honored as sacred people. Nomads are liberal to religion, just like their erstwhile disposer Chinggis Khan.
Religion in MongoliaDuring your journey you are going to meet numerous Mongols, believing in different religions. They use the offered services for their own daily spiritually needs. However Mongols remain truthful to one religion, the shamanism. They see shamanism as the origin of all religions.
- Day 1: Departure
Departure from Europe to Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan - Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
Arrival at Ulaanbaatar/Chinggis Khan Airport,transfer to the yurt (Ger) camp, drive to the meeting point of shamans and meet the shaman of our trip. - Day 3-5: National Park Khustain Nuruu
In the morning we are going to drive together to the National Park "Khustain Nuruu", where a successful rehabilitation program for Przewalski-Horses is realized. These horses are a kind of ancestor of our present horses. You are going to become an eye witness of various rituals of shamanism. However our attender is going to leave the group on the second day. From then on we are going to get to know the traditional and convenience activities of the Nomads by the help of a local family. Moreover our journey includes walks, rides and a visitation of a 6th century Turkish memorial. Overnight you are going to stay in a Ger built for tourists from Nomads. - Day 6:
Return to Ulaanbaatar, preparation for the following trip north-eastern trip, overnight stay in Camp on the edge of the city. - Day 7-11:
Trip to the shaman village "Bayan Uul Soum", where the famous buryatish shaman "Zeren Bawai" was born. Bayan Uul is a part of the DornodProvince, where shamans meet each other from May 22th to September 22th. Moreover aspirants are nominated as shamans here every year. We experience the mystical art of these special persons. Overnight in a camp close to the Avarga-Toson-Source, in the tent at the
river "Kherlen" and in Ger of the village. - Day 12-13:
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Visitaiton of Chinggis Khan Statue complex, you can admire a 40 m high statue, which was designed in remembrance on the mighty disposer. It is thought to be seen as being one of the highest cavalier monuments worldwide surrounded by lots of yurts. Overnight in tent situated in "Gun Galuut". - Day 14: Ulaanbaatar
Morning arrival in Ulaanbaatar, in the afternoon you can discover the capital of Mongolia by your self. - Day 15: Departure Day
Early morning transfer to the Airport and departure to Europe.
